About Temple
Kot Bhramari Temple is also known as Bhramari Devi Temple and Kote-ke-Mai. This temple is located at the top of a mount enclosed by a fort in Kasauni. Main deity of this temple is Goddess Bhramari. The idol is facing north side while devotees offer prayers from the south direction of the temple.
History of Temple
According to Hindu mythology, the great Indian Guru, Adi Guru Shankarcharya, stayed at this place during his journey to the region of Garhwal. He spent his some valuable time in this temple on his way to Garwal region.
Main Attraction :
In the month of August, a fair, known as the Nanda Ashtami or Nanda Raj Jat, is organised here. At the time of Nanda Ashtami, or nanda raj Jat, the Goddess, Bhramari is taken for the yatra. During the yatra, a big procession is carried out.
