Manali Attraction - Bishweshwer Temple Bajuara
In 9th century Bishweshwer Temple was bulit but in 1673 AD it was also rebuilt by Raja Shyam Sen of Mandi. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the temple there is Shiv Linga and 4 other gods installed inside the temple. South and North sides respectively whereas Surya is on the top of the temple and Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Durga in the West,. The main door opens in the East side.
Design of Temple
Temple is built in pyramidal style and Shankaracharya Paddhati (style) of "Panch Dev Puja". Its means five gods worship together at a place. Some people believed the during their exile Pandavas constructed this temple in just one day.
Bishweshwer Temple of Bishweshwer Mahadev Temple or ishveshvara Mahadev is located at Bajaura 5 Km south from Bhuntar on Kullu-Manali National Highway No. 21.
