Manali Attraction - Basheshwar Mahadev Temple Bajaura

Basheshwar Mahadev Temple is a 9th century temple. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the prominent attractions and located at Bajaura on NH- 21, about 4 kms from Bhuntar Airport.

Temple Design

The temple architecture is stone carvings and it was constructed in the 9th century. Design of this temple is like Shikhara and outer surface of the temple is covered with the carvings. Basheshwar Mahadev Temple is a pyramid shaped temple, here Yogi-Lingam idol is present which dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. In this temple idols of Ganesh, Vishnu and Durga also present. And the wall of this temple is carved pictures of Ganges and Yamuna.
