    Dharamsala Attraction : Jwalamukhi Temple

    Jwalamukhi Temple is the famous and old temple of goddess Jawalamukhi it is also called the “Flaming Goddess” or “She of the flaming mouth”. It is frequented by tourists. It is one of the most popular Hindu temples of north India.

    About Temple
    This temple is made up of a dome and peak like pinnacles. This temple doesn't have a statue or any solid image, but a constantly burning blue flame that seems to come from the rocks. People line up to worship this blue flame. People believed that the flame represent the Goddess.

    History of Temple
    According to hindu Mythology, Lord Shiva win the  Demon Jalandhara by burying him with mountains and it believed that flames come from his mouth.Local people and women worship the Goddess here and believed that  they fulfill the  any wish, any desire. They composed a song in honour of Jwalamukhi Devi. This temple first built by the Sikh Raja Kharak Singh with heavily embellished with a gilt dome and decorated with lots of gold.
