Chamera Dam is one of the most prominent tourist destination of Dalhousie. It is located near the town of Dalhousie, in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh state.

About Chamera Dam
In Chamba region the Chamera Dam is built over the river Ravi and supports the hydroelectricity project. It is centre of several water sports near the city of Dalhousie and reservoir of the dam is the Chamera Lake. It is 741 ft high and 295 ms long and minimum water level is 747 meters.
Chamera Dam generates 540 MW of electricity in its first phase of the hydroelectricity power and second phase the dam generates 300 MW of electricity. Chamera Lake is the artificial reservoir built along with the dam.

Chamera Dam fluctuating day and night temperature. Day temperature near the dam rises is 35º and night temperature is vary to 18º to 20º Centigrade
