About Mattupetty 

Mattupetty is famous for Mattupetty lake and Dam.It is situated at an altitude of 1700 m. above the sea level. Mattupetty is also famous for its much renowned dairy farm; the Indo-Swiss livestock project. In Indo - Swiss Farm you see the 100 varieties of high yielding breeds of cattle. Mattupetty Dam and Lake is situated about 3 km away from Indo – Swiss Farm. 

Tourist love the panoramic view of the dam surrounded by wooden hills and tea plantations. Main attraction of Mattupetty is Boating.  DTPC (District Tourism Promotion Council) Idukki has good facility for boating. Here tourist can enjoy the speed boats, row boats and pedal boats. About 7 km from Mattupetty is Kundala, another beautiful picnic spot where large green tea plantations and a dam with a scenic reservoir await travellers. Here you see the marvelous Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake.
