About Railway Board Building
In year 1896-1897, Railway Board Building was built by Bombay based firm, Richardson and Cruddas and offices of the PWD’s Secretary, Railway Board and a Department of Commerce in the form of Accountant-General. Railway Board building has 4 storeys from the road, provided with very beautiful, artistic iron stairs.
This building was designed by 'Public Works Department Secretariat Offices'. In year 1923, This building became a house of Railway Board. At present time many of the central Government offices reside inside the building. Railway board building provides a good practical example for the students of reputed architectural schools. This building is a strong and fire resistant magnificent piece of architecture.
