Kothi is a little picturesque village and located 12 km from Manali on Lahaul-Spiti-Leh Highway on the Keylong road. Himachal Tourism Department.was developed Kothi as a tourist spot.Kothi is also known as Koshtampi and has a temple of Goddess Shuwang Chandika, a local deity.
Kothi gives the fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and the Beas river flows through a very deep and narrow gorge in this region. Kothi is a perfect place for nature and peace lovers, poets and painters.
The slopes above Kothi are a steep 1 hr walk up from the road, but there are excellent thermals coming off the rocks make a pretty picture and local and tourist people enjoy its beauty.

Kothi served as the camping place for tourists by trekkers climbing the 13,400 ft Rohtang Pass and known for offering magnificent views of the deep gorge serving as the mouth of Beas River. It is famous for snow-capped pinnacles, glaciers and verdant valleys. It is a perfect base for paragliding.

Here is a well-situated Public Works Department (PWD) Resthouse where you spend your night. Resthouse has a panoramic view of the magnificent mountainscape.
